These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Chalet Butler's services. By using our service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Chalet Butler, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use our service.
2. Description of Service
Chalet Butler provides a digital platform for vacation rental property owners to create and share guest information including:
- Digital property guides
- QR code generation
- Multilingual content support
- Guest recommendations and instructions
3. User Accounts
Account Creation
You must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your password
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
- Immediate termination: For fraud, illegal activities, or severe Terms violations
- 30-day notice: For other violations, we will provide notice and opportunity to cure
- Data export: You have 30 days after termination notice to export your data
- Appeal: You may appeal termination decisions by contacting info@chaletbutler.com
4. Subscription Plans
Free Plan

- No payment required
Paid Plans (Pro & Max)
- Billed monthly or annually
- Prices displayed at checkout
- Automatic renewal unless canceled
- 30-day money-back guarantee
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting info@chaletbutler.com. Upon cancellation:
- Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period
- No refunds will be issued for partial billing periods (except within the 30-day guarantee period)
- You can export your property data before the end of your billing period
- Your account will automatically downgrade to the Free plan unless you request account deletion
5. User Content
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for all content you upload, including:
- Property information and descriptions
- Images and logos
- WiFi credentials and access codes
- Guest instructions and recommendations
Content Restrictions
You may not upload content that:
- Violates any laws or regulations
- Infringes intellectual property rights
- Contains malware or malicious code
- Is defamatory, obscene, or offensive
License Grant
By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, display, and distribute your content solely to provide our service.
6. Intellectual Property
Chalet Butler and its original content (excluding user content) are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.
7. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Use the service for illegal purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Scrape, spider, or harvest user data
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
- Resell or redistribute the service
8. Payment Terms
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to:
- Charge your payment method at the start of each billing period
- Automatically renew your subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal
- Send renewal reminder emails 7 days before your billing date
- Apply sales tax where applicable
Price Changes
We may update subscription prices from time to time. Price changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice via email. For existing subscriptions:
- Price changes take effect at your next renewal date (not immediately)
- You have the right to cancel your subscription if you do not agree to the new pricing
- If you cancel before the renewal date, you'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period
9. Refund Policy
- 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee: Full refund within 30 days of first subscription
- Annual Plans: Pro-rated refunds available within first 30 days
- Monthly Plans: No refunds after 30-day guarantee period
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
LIABILITY CAP: IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. FOR FREE PLAN USERS, OUR LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED 100 CHF.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. EU Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you have additional rights under EU law:
- 14-Day Withdrawal Right: You have the right to withdraw from a subscription purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. However, if you start using the service during this period, you agree to waive this right in exchange for immediate access.
- Right to Remedies: If the service is faulty or not as described, you have the right to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund as provided by EU consumer law.
- Unfair Terms: Any terms found to be unfair under EU consumer protection law will not be enforceable against you.
- Dispute Resolution: You may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be exclusively resolved in the courts of Solothurn, Switzerland. However, we may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
For international users: If you are located outside Switzerland, you may also have the right to file a complaint with your local consumer protection authority or data protection authority.
